—Fleetowner.com Cargo Transporters, a truckload carrier operating 500 trucks and 1,600 trailers, is equipping its cabs with satellite TV from EpicVue. The EpicVue package offers drivers more than 100 channels of DIRECTV programming, including premium channels such as HBO/Cinemax, Showtime and the NFL Sunday Ticket. There is a monthly subscription fee, but no upfront hardware costs. “We originally placed an order for 20 EpicVue satellite TV packages so we could gauge ease of use, installation and driver feedback,” said Dennis Dellinger, president of Cargo Transporters.
“The response was so overwhelmingly positive from our drivers that we quickly ordered 70 more packages. It’s really quite incredible to see how happy our drivers are to be getting TV in their sleepers.”
The EpicVue service for fleets includes a 24-in. flat screen TV, a DVR, an off-air antenna used to pick up local channels and an EpicVue designed and manufactured ruggedized satellite antenna for installation on the rear or the top of the cab. Satellite packages for fleets with 20 or more vehicles start at $49 per month under a five-year contract, or $59 monthly for a three-year contract. “One of the best parts about bringing this product to the trucking industry is seeing just how well received it is by drivers,” said Lance Platt, CEO of EpicVue. “They finally get to enjoy the simple pleasure of television that probably just about every one of us takes for granted on a daily basis. We are so pleased Cargo Transporters drivers are getting to experience it now as well.” Original source: http://www.fleetowner.com
